The University of Toronto Kendo Club will be hosting the Annual U of T Kendo Tour­nament on June 5, 2010. We would like to invite you to this tournament as we hope to continue the tradition of exciting competi­tion and spirit of camaraderie that has made the tournament such a success in past years.

Dear Members of the Canadian and US Kendo Community,

The date of the 2010 University of Toronto Kendo Tournament has been announced. It will be taking place on Saturday, June 5th, 2010.
Details on the tournament, as well as an attached waiver form, will be sent as soon as possible.

There is an extra practice on Friday, February 19, 2010 from 6PM to 10PM to prepare for the upcoming Inter-University Kendo Tournament.
All beginners and advanced members participating in the tournament must attend the practice.

As scheduled, we also have practices on Thursday and Saturday during regular hours.

There will be practice on February 18, Thursday at regular schedule.

There may also be more practice scheduled during the week, and please check the website again during the week to confirm final practice schedule.

There will be Club Dinner on Saturday at Canyon Creek Steak House, followed by a party near Bay and Wellesley.  Please contact Issac Ru or So Min to confirm your attendance.  If you haven’t, please RSVP on the facebook event page under University of Toronto Kendo Club and check the event page for details.

Sunday will be Inter-University kendo tournament hosted by University of Guelph.  Please bring registration fee to Byung by Thursday.  Beginners who wish to compete must strive to show up to any scheduled practice during the reading week to prepare for the competition.

I would like to invite everyone to join the 2009-2010 University of Toronto Kendo Club Annual Dinner Party on February 20th of 2010 ( During Reading week ).
The purpose of this dinner party is to gather all the members from the club to enjoy the club spirit , get to know each and reconnect with your old friends.
Beginners, New & Senior members and Alumni’s are welcomed to join this event !
We would also like to announce the winners of this year’s Member of the Year Award ( Beginners & Advance) at the dinner.
The dinner party will be held at The Canyon Creek Steakhouse and also later at a party room on Bay street.
* If you have vegetarian preferences please contact me directly.

Fee: $20 for the AfterParty ( Including Drinks and Snacks). Dinner at Canyon Creek is not included.

( We will try to subsidize this event to make it more affordable for all the students)
Dress Code : Make an effort, No Jeans & T-Shirt.

This is an excellent opportunity for both advanced and beginner club members to see the results of their practice and to add on to their experience. We highly recommend that all students participate in this tournament (it only comes once a year).
If you are planning to attend, you must habve registered  by Saturday, January 30, 2010.  However you are welcome to come and watch.
I have attached a waiver form to this email. Please read and sign it and give it to Byung or Bill before Saturday, February 6, 2010, along with the $30 participation fee and the optional $10 for lunch.

Welcome back, everyone, to UTKC ! So far our practices have been great, with lots of members, both beginner and advanced, joining us for the first few practices of 2010. Hopefully this enthusiasm will continue for the rest of the year.
To start off this year, we must of course have another pub night to show how much we love kendo (and alcohol)! I’m sorry for the short notice, but hopefully many people can still join us!

Everyone is welcome to come. If anyone has trouble finding the location, we can arrange to meet at Christie subway station before leaving for the bar.
